One of my favorite modern art museums in the world, in a beautifully designed building by Renzo Piano along the water. Great permanent collection with famous Koons, Murakami, and and Hirst works.

Modern art in a modern building. Not fan of the temporary exhibition? The permanent one is worth the money alone! If names like Jeff Koons or Damien Hirst is new to you, then you need to go. Now!

The building is special, so worth checking out, even if the museum is closed (Mon. and before 12/after 5). The art is not everyone’s cup of tea, but there are a few greats in the permanent collection.

just like the SF MOMA, the building architecture here is just as much the star as the artwork inside. plan to spend at least 2-3 hours inside and soak it all in (and the Wifi!)
